Who is Required to Participate

All NASA-funded researchers (both civil servant and non-civil servant) are required to deposit copies of peer-reviewed publications launch and associated data into NASA’s designated repository called PubSpace launch .

Note: The PubSpace collection EXCLUDES patents, publications that contain material governed by personal privacy, export control, proprietary restrictions, or national security law or regulations.

You will scroll down to the heading that says “For External NASA Grantees, Contractors and Cooperative Agreement Holders”. You will see the number 1 and a linked form to fill out online. All you have to do is fill out the article info and submit!

For External NASA Grantees, Contractors and Cooperative Agreement Holders

As of February 1, 2022, new submissions to NASA PubSpace have moved from the NIH Manuscript Submission (NIHMS) system to the NASA STI Program. Coming soon, NASA PubSpace will be accessible through the NASA STI Repository. Further guidance is provided below.

Do you have a submission in progress with the NIHMS system? The deadline for completing in-progress submission actions has passed. If your submission was not fully approved it may need to be submitted again through the STI Program. Reach out to the Research Access Help Desk with any questions.

Updated Guidance: Contractors with a NASA identity and who can access NASA Launchpad, use the internal submission portal launch . Grantees, contractors, and cooperative agreement holders without a NASA identity should follow these steps:

1. Submit your peer-reviewed publication launch directly to the NASA STI Program through this form launch . (Submissions will no longer be accepted through the NIH Manuscript Submission (NIHMS) system.)

   • Before submitting, have the following information ready:

     • NASA Funding Number

     • Principal Investigator Name and E-mail

     • DOI for the peer-reviewed publication

     • Title of the peer-reviewed publication

     • The name of one author and corresponding affiliation from the author list

     • Publication name

   • On the form, select Submit a Publication

   • Complete the required fields and attach the file for your article
